the redo exp: interviews

I read anything and everything I could find on Redo in order to excel during the interviews.

If this was my only chance, I wasn’t going to leave any question that I was the guy.

I wasn’t going to let my lack of effort leave me without a job offer.

This was game time.

I read more from Tyler Hogge’s blog and found another article about exceptional startups.

He wrote, “Another way to tell whether the talent is high is how hard the interview process is. If the bar is extremely high, you can have a good sense that they are weeding out the mediocre.

Clearwater was a master at this. It was famous for having the hardest interview process in all of Boise, which was where it was based. It was grueling. Incredibly hard questions. Projects. Homework. Founders who were pushing you to see how you’d respond.

Is the interview process vanilla and easy? Then the startup is likely not exceptional. You want to join the Navy Seals, not get automatically accepted by the Boy Scouts.”

I felt like I had to be ready for anything and boy was I right. I had a few interview experiences, not many, but enough to know when the employer is learning about me as a candidate vs. when they aren’t.

During this process, with Redo, I felt they learned more than enough about me to justify a hiring decision.
