the pricethe price

poem · nov 2019

the price

was He betrayed with a kiss? or with a heart lost in greed? we say we’ll never leave Jesus yet we’ve denied the Nazarene. so before you grab your sword and decide to fight your way out the price isn’t just thirty pieces it’s His life we’re talking about.

He lost in a fixed court, was less popular than a thug, without even saying a word His grave was already dug. they nailed Him to a cross. His charge? King of the Jews fraud, fake, and fool they said but He was wearing our shoes.
