His birth and life had been foretold and prayed for by both young and old. This King and Lion would soon deliver from Empires that were always bigger! . The Victorious One was born in a barn maybe to show He meant no harm. No! Soon, He’d build his powerful battalion and conquer with sword atop magnificent stallion! . as a boy He carpentered under his Father shaped and sanded and made much stronger. Perfect! He knows how to work with his hands He’ll lead, as Almighty, into foreign lands! . Building the Kingdom seemed to dawn slowly. He introduced beggar, sick, lost, and lowly in heart to His castle that He’d yet to start laying the revolution, it seemed, He was only delaying. . How were we ever to win this great fight? without sword, or dominion, and only two mites! was Jesus to be our conquering Brother? what has He done? do we look for another? . He called evil spirits out from her head and commanded the lame to take up his bed. He declared, to the woman, that she was set free from the prison of guilt to which He holds the key. . to those who were blind He quickly gave sight to others in darkness He is Everlasting Light. to those who’ve felt lost for too many days have peace and know He is also The Way. . When doubt and loss crawl into your life And the pit to escape is too great a height Or you feel you’ve fallen from Father’s favor Remember God’s love is His Mediator. . He wasn’t sent to kill or raise the sword or start fights or battles, but to end the War. On errand of His Father, the Shepherd brought cheese to fight the war waged by a giant who breathes, . “Lost. Dead. Gone. Worthless. Empty. Forgotten. Guilty. Hopeless.” Is there not a cause to defeat this enemy? whose taunts compete for our identity! . Christ lives and died as our Infinite Hope to pay our staggering debt because we’re all broke. You quietly question, “for a person like me?” God speaks, “You’re Mine,” based on pedigree. . Between two thieves, on the middle tree The Lamb of God suffered willingly. And crowned with thorns the King decreed, Whom the Son sets free is free indeed! . so when your journey pit stops at Bethesda’s pool, and this season of life feels more cruel, alone and afterthought are not your story’s bells because forever His name is Emmanuel.
